Description

Here we see Talla as she looks to the rising sun in hopes that her brother's ship will return to her home in the port city of Alerdasae. Perhaps she should look over her right shoulder... What do you think? Well once again I am trying something a bit out of my comfort zone. I grew up near Boston and the Atlantic Ocean; as such, I miss it horribly now that I live in the Midwest US. I modeled the lighthouse roughly on the one in Salem MA. I have included a LOT of detail here since I wanted it to look as realistic as possible. I am thinking of releasing the lighthouse, cottage, rocks, stairs and rails as a single scene in my Renderosity store if enough people seem interested. The Lighthouse took me about 2 weeks to complete and tweak. The light house was done completely in Carrara 6 Pro. The textures on it and the cottage are all custom and were created in Paint Shop Pro X with heavy usage of Alien Skin's Eye candy 5 plug ins. The terrain was also done using Carrara 6 Pro. I used modified procedural shaders on the Mossy rocks and created a new one for the grey rough rocks. The ocean was just done using one of the C6 oceam objects. Talla was done in Carrara 6 as well, using Poser objects such as Aiko 3 from DAZ, the hair is Destiny Hair for Aiko 3. The other components used some custom skins I did for various poser props and clothing. Finally I used PSP X to adjust the colors a bit to give it a stormier look. I was thinking of trying to postwork in some foam and spray but I really stink at that. My hands get too shaky when I have to do freehand work like that. I hope someday we get a plugin for Carrara that does what the Terragen foam and spray plug ins do. Let me know if you like it.

Just so everyone knows, I have the lighthouse scene available in my Renderosity Store now. I hope everyone likes it. It comes with the entire scene you see in this render except for the girl, her clothes, and the ship in the background.
