Description

Our neighborhood moose at the "pond" (it's really an oversized puddle with grass in it) down the road from me. He knew I was there, and he wasn't too overjoyed to see me this time. But he stayed there and let me take several (near 70 or so) shots of him. Then he got bored, and wandered off into the woods behind him. He got pretty use to seeing me around, as every time I saw him this winter, I was ready with my camera and sat inside my van taking tons of pictures. So he was pretty use to me by the time this shot was taken. :o) Hope you enjoy. Thanks for looking. Your thoughts and comments are always welcome and appreciated. :o) ~Row. He's a handsome creature! Good thing he's used to you, I hear they can get nasty when mad. Great capture.

Great shot and hope you were zooming from a distance. I've heard they charge for no reason .. stay safe!

Thank you for your concern. I was zooming in from about 20-30 yards away from him. I haven't had one charge me as of yet, but I'm pretty cautious because I know there are young moose and the parents can be very protective and think they need to defend their territory. (And I have young kids too, so I understand.) Thank you for your comments, I appreciate them. :o) ~Row.

Great shot of this bull. Here the only time I worry with bull moose is mid sept to early oct when the rut is on. Summer brings protective cows and their calves. To those who see moose often this is just a photo but to the rest it is a treat. Excellent
