wonderful to think about the flying full scale replicas now in service, thanks for the view.

i feel a conflict whenever i see a 262. it was beautiful aircraft and a work of genius, but i cannot forget that it was built using slave labour under SS control (which may have been self-defeating if the stories of sabotaged engine blades are true). On a lighter note, i have just noticed that from above the profile looks like a B737...

It always looked like a shark to me, and it was just as deadly. Good thing that so few actually took to the air in '44-45. Some USAAF fighter pilots called them "Blowjobs." Anyway, another great render of this classic "grandaddy."

Maybe the Komet was the grandad. This one is the dad. Great as allways.

Germany was hugely inventive to the end. The V1, V2, Rocket fighters, and this amazing jet fighter. It's a pity they had a madman in charge. Or maybe, just as well!

wonderful to see homage paid to such a beautiful and revolutionary bird... a definite favorite of mine, both as an aeronautical engineer and as the son of a luftwaffe fighter pilot (me109 mostly) who was in training to fly the me262 at war's end. gut gemacht!
