Description

Piedras Blancas Lighthouse Lens The beautiful Fresnel Lens of the Piedras Blancas lighthouse has been a mainstay in the heart of Cambria for many years. Now restored and cleaned, it is housed in a specially build lantern room built by the Friends of Piedras Blancas Light located outside the Veteran's Hall at the Pinedorado Grounds on Main Street at the edge of Old Town, Cambria. This lens was removed from the Lighthouse proper and saved by the Cambria Lion's Club when it was slated to be destroyed. The Coast Guard, community of Cambria and the Lion's Club all had a hand in restoring this priceless piece of nautical history and placing it in Cambria. The lighthouse itself is now run by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and is located approximately 13 miles south of where the lense is now housed. (c) 2008 Twilight Productions
