Description

Late Night Voices It's always late When we talk The end of the day When we have time Dark outside and quiet No one else awake Listening hearing It's just you and me I love the sound Of your voice Telling me about your day Or some other intimacy With us Nothing is trivial It all adds up to Who we are In all the times We share the night I know you more Late night voices Soft as velvet Sweet and sultry Wrap me in their sounds Hold me in their every syllable And I listen To you 5/23/08

A wonderful expression of intimate companionship - true communication / connection at its best - and beautifully penned I might add. Mike

Fantastic, evocative words! Again, you capture a profound experience that all of us share, but too few of us actually pause to enjoy! Ah, late night voices! I love the sound of them, quiet and winding through various intimacies. The favorite of my late night once declared: "A bottle stands between us now, so we must be very, very honest." Your words brought that back, wonderfully!

Gives me a sense of the spiritual, when it is time for us to listen to what He has to say. Very thought-provoking words.

wow, marilyn, you've wrapped your honesty in elegance and beauty this time... what a wonderful expression of loving reverence for a very special relationship! the 'voice' in your night is a very fortunate soul to have you to commune with... michael

I loved working with you on this, and I love how it turned out! This is a gorgeous poem, straight from the heart. I agree with Michael ... the voice in your night is fortunate, indeed.

That's really nice, Marilyn, most eloquent and soothing. Down here we call late night voices "Talk Radio"...which is hardly sweet, velvet and sultry. In fact, it's often frightening.
