Description
GWR 2-6-2T 4566 heads the "Cornish Riviera Express" into Bewdley station on the Severn Valley Railway.
The light was terrible - overcast & flat, so I decided to convert to a mono image as I felt that it looked a lot better than the original colour one!!

Yes a fantastic shot, the monochrome works really well, you wouldn't know that you had difficulty with the light conditions. Bravo!

My very first solo train journey at the age of 14 was from Bournemouth to Kingswear via Templecombe and Exeter. I suppose it could have been this train that went along the Dawlish bit which is so very beautiful. I had to stand in the corridor as it was so crowded, and fell asleep held upright by the others. When we reached Dawlish Warren some got out and I woke falling out onto the sand! SO EMBARRASSING!

Excellent capture here, and the Black and white concept, helps illustrate a bygone age...Excellent work!

For me here in Germany the locomotive looks very british! (The shape and all..) Wonderful pic, very sharp and clear! And a good idea to convert it into b/W. It gives an historical touch.

Being a Cornishman I am old enough to remember this train and taking a ride along the Devon coast to Cornwall via Dawlish Warren
