I can assure you these 3 muses scared me so much I had to get away from my screen!!!!
LOL... Creations scaring their own creator...interesting topic, isnt'it?
It all came of a sudden when I added a distortion filter to my triple female layer (that is me by the way)... I still shiver!!!!
I had to minimize the picture to be able to finish it without freaking out....!!!!
First thing I thought was... "I have to hide those hideous muses" and I added one of my favorite textures to it... I was still keeping my distance with my screen LOL...
Then I found the strengh to take a closer look at the scene , decrease texture opacity level and decided it was finished...:)

I looked at all three versions in the wrong order! Trust me to get it wrong. I do think this is the best, not only for the antique effect of the sepia colouring, but also because the three muses are much clearer. The muses ... don't we all distort our perception[s] of ourselves, and isn't recognition of these persona always scary? Perhaps not for some people. Mike

This is an image which requires a bit of study. I didn't understand what you found so spooky, until I saw the full-size image. Very impressive. With respect, I think you got it 'right' the first time. "3 Muses II" is technically impressive, but doesn't have, in my opinion, the impact of this image.
