Description

On my way home from the Garden Center, I saw an Eagle soaring high in the sky. I wanted to stare at her and watch, but I was driving. As my eyes went back to the road, I spotted a huge nest. In the nest, I saw a Bald Eagle just sitting. :| Did I have my camera? NOPE! ~ Grrrr ~ I knew they'd be around a while, so I went back there yesterday. I used my 300mm lens with the 2X, and of course, tripod .. but only became frustrated because no matter how careful I was to press that button, it was a blurry image. Plus, it's a setup that won't auto-focus; so I had to manually focus. Do I trust my eyes? lol So, finally, I decided to take the 2X off, take it off the tripod, and only then was I able to get some decent shots. Cars slowed way down to see what I was doing - It was embarrassing, but I didn't care. I kept on taking pictures .. a couple hundred about. I thought it would be appropriate to upload one of them on this day --- Memorial Day --- A day of remembrance. Have a wonderful day ... thanks for stopping by! Shari

A 300mm lens with a 2X? To prevent blurring you'd have to be a statue to hand-hold that with a camera. Did you think of using the Hubble Telescope? Actually, a pretty good capture considering your camera lens equipment. Is the eagle as small as it looks? I alway think of them as huge with large wing spans.

Fantastic, really cool to know, you have your own American eagle. a beautiful one too. Excellent shot. I think the local paper needs one of your shots, quite the news, but just be careful in traffic, not a shot of you getting smushed while taking pictures. ;-) Hmm... What do the Canadian geese think? Then, could it really be a Canadian eagle? Bet it doesn't care.

The few times I come across such wonderful wild subjects they seem to make sure the lighting is not good and/or they are too far away, or like you my eyes are bad, so I can definetly understand taking what you can get at the time and hoping for a better chance in the future.
