Description

Little Aiko is visiting an alien planet. She's far from home and feels lonely so it's time to go back to her family. Her mode of transportation - a transporter of course! How else to travel the galaxy quickly? However, it's a bit scary to have one's atoms digitized and sent via a beam of light through space so she's not looking forward to the trip itself. She tries to think of her family as the machine warms up and flashes of energy dance about her with intense frantic speed. She must hold very still for once the machine begins its work it's death to step off the transporter pad. I had tons of fun creating this picture. :) I got to use lots of fun tricks in Photoshop CS3 to do the special effects. In adding the lighting, I tried to create a cool pattern so that it wasn't just random beams of light but rather a nifty little kaleidoscope effect. For a 2D symmetry group a kaleidoscopic point is a point of intersection of two or more lines of reflection symmetry. Hope you like it. BTW, I now rank 38 on the list of favorite artists! Yeah!
