***************************** So here I stand years gone by I've watched from many fallen skies Way back to the civil war Where 600,000 or more have died We've paid for freedom, far and wide **************************************** I have stood on mountains,on many shores I've seen destruction of lives and more My stripes have bruises, you cannot see As hands are always helping me Even the eagle cannot soar As he hears the roar, the sound of lives the cries of sorrow as he knows it returns tomorrow *********************************** I ask of you,on this day to pray it ends return men and women to be on thier way home and to thier families, and find some peace to ease thier pain but never to return again: and may I pray for my two nephews,(Joans sons)who are in the Canadian army to be safe: Todd and Tim I love you auntie ev:

MINHA AMIGA FNATÁSTICO TRIBUTO,ESPERO QUE AS GUERRAS TERMINEM ONDE VIDAS SÃO TIRADAS POR NADA E FAMILIAS DESTRUIDAS,FICO PENSADO POR QUE O SER HUMANO TEM QUE MATAR PESSOAS QUE NUNCA VIRAM ANTES.VOU REZAR PARA QUE OS HOMENS QUE ESTÃO NA GUERRA VOLTEM SÃO E SALVOS PARA SUAS FAMILIAS.++++++++++5

The Prince of Peace himself said,"I bring not peace but a sword." Let those with ears hear! How does such a faith endure the worldy form?

As a vietnam vet, I especially appreciate the consideration. Wonderful image and poem Evie. Like vietnam, I feel this Iraq war is a waste of major money and lives. The moment we pull our troops out, they will destroy the infant democracy and re-install their repressive religous oriented govenment. All will be for naught. Some folks just don't want freedom. We don't either, when push comes to shove. Our country is also loaded with those trying to clamp down on their fellow man's freedoms. Rosity is just a tiny example of how a few can clamp down on the whole, in restricting artists freedom of expression. And we let them. We allow our freedoms to be nibbled away, inch by inch, bit by bit, until one day we awaken and wonder how we ever got into such a repressive situation. But never fear.. there is always war, civil or otherwise, to cleanse away repression, so we can start over and do it again and again. When people die for freedom, it's a permanent loss. So how come the gain isn't permanent? Can anyone answer that simple question? Anyway, getting off my soap box now.. lol. Super job Evie dearest. Bravo and hugs from Dave :^)
