Description

Boy, the start of summer season has really kept me busy and unable to post like I want! This shot was taken from the foyer under the 'tower' picture. You can see more of yellow lichen going up the wall. If you notice, you can also see the second story fireplace built in line with the first story fireplace. Notice also the thick walls and woodwork arch. Remember, this house was built in the 1800's and they didn't have central heat & air... I'll continue to post a bit more exploration of this house as I go. One interesting tid bit of info is my Mom and her brothers, sisters and friends used to play in these ruins when she was a kid (around 1960). There are cells under the house that they don't generally let people know about... Nor the blood stains... Thanks for stopping by for a look-see. Comments and thoughts are always welcome. Spike

Nice shot! Spooky looking place! I didn't know about the cells.. Isn't this place supposedly haunted?

Bear: Yep, haunted. Which is why I won't be near there towards dark... ;) It is said Barnsly's dead wife appeared to him in the front fountain (I may post that one today if I can) and told him to finish the house so their children would have a home.
