Description

This has been modelled entirely in the terrain editor and consists only of terrain meshes and symmetrical lattices! The face and body of the mummy I created in kpt gel(KPT 6) and exported the height map as a pgm file, which I then imported back into Bryce. I retouched the pgm file in Photoshop. Photoshop doesn't recognise pgm, therefore I used Irfan view, reconverted the file to Tiff and brought it into Photoshop (this was for the face). The only primitives I've used here are the two spheres which make up the eyes and a sphere with a redone version of Clay's fire in his hands. This is actually an image in progress and this particular portion forms a part of the final image. Its generally not my wont to put up work in progress but as we recently finished the challenge and explored what we could do in terms of modelling with Bryce, I thought I'd share this with you all. Look forward to your comments and suggestions. This image has been inspired by a work of Alan H Okamoto. A brilliant illustrator, and I have only seen 4 off his images! :-( So in case any body knows where I might be able to locate his work on the web, please do let me know.

Wow, this is fantastic!! You are mastering the terrain faster than the speed of bullet. Good job, but I know your next one will be even better!!! Keep up the fabulous work!

very impressive! quite different from the rest of your work...much more sinister....if i had to pick a fault i would say that the face above the mummy is not centered. it only stands out cause the rest is so symmetrical...but i'm being picky!...great work!

Hey thanx for the comments! I agree wolf! :-( Its very difficult to precisely align a symmetrical lattice. The original is a 1800 pixels by 2000 pixel render done over a period of 28 hours. After it was done, didn't have the courage to go back and redo it! But I do intend to correct it soon. As well as complete my orignal conceived image! Yes, this is different from my other work, as its my first attempt at the Horror genre! Thanx again for visiting.

Flat-out fantastic humorix! You NEVER fail to a- maze me with your imagination and mastery of tech nique. BTW, did you hear about the sunken city dis covered off the coast of Cuba? It's 2400 ft below the surface and appears to have pyramidal struc tures, highways, and plazas. National Geographics is involved with the research project. (Atlantis?)
