This is a bit of an update. From humble beginnings my photography is steadily improving.I started out with a Kodak point and shoot camera and progressed to a Sony A-200 Digital SLR camera.Other equipment that i currently have is the following: Tamron 70-300mm lens. This could be a small cancer that trees suffer fron called Fasiation, but that usually is a lot bigger and the smae colour as the bark, I think this is more probably a pupae of some moth or butterfly, however, it's a nice shot my friend

A very interesting shot, I tend to agree with PD154's comment regarding the pupae of some insect, A bit late now but I would have returned each day to check it out, see what became of it. Excellent and intriguing image. Bravo!!!!!
