Description

I can't help myself but to upload a picture of Lilly. Lilly showed up literally on our doorstep just 3 1/2 weeks ago. She had a cold, an eye infection, burnt ears, she was anemic. She couldn't hardly stand up, her eyes were swelled shut. She was so skinny , dehydrated and malnourished. To be honest I didn't think she would be ok after a vet trip the next day. We took her in, gave her a bath, gave her some food. She slept for hours. The next day, after making some calls, our wonderful humane society provided hundreds of $$ worth of vet treatment for us and charged us very little. Yesterday was her last trip to the vet. She is actually recovering from the anemia nicely, eating like a pig, plays all day long. But there's another side of her. I think of the cruel people out there who yelled at her to get out of her yard, cars that nearly hit her, people who chased her away,all the other things out there in the big world that scared her. After all of that, she stills trusts me with her world and gives me a real hug 3-4 times a day, wrapping her paws around my neck and laying her face against my chin. She gives as much affection as she recieves despite the cruetly she may have endured in her life to date. It amazes me she can overcome her previous life in a few short weeks. Forgive and forget. Grateful and loving. Innocent and Unjaded. Wish it was that easy for people to overcome pain and move on. 3 1/2 weeks later, this is my Lilly-Bug.

She"s a beauty. I wish you both many happy years together. Our cat Valentine was rescued too. She is still a loving member of the family 20 years later.
