Description

Hello.... Just a simple one today. I was playing around and came up with this new model last night, and after a long night of work came up with this. Now part of me thinks it should have more to it, but the other part of me thinks I should listen to my brother-in-law (a painter) who often thinks I put too much in my images. Well, I can always go back and play with it again. Well, I hope you like it! Oh yeah, all models made in xfrog 3.5, except for the rocks (pure Vue).....

These are great! They look like they are dancing. The lighting is done very well! About too much or not in pics: I think this is a matter of style as well as taste. So far there always has been a lot of harmony in your pictures. There is a lot of stuff, but it makes your landscapes so deep and tangible like a real world - I think this is what I like most about them. This and the feeling that you expressed what you wanted is important. There should be no other rules, because they tend to limit ones creativity... Keep going by gut feeling I would think :-)

I like it just as it is. Simplicity is sometimes more powerful and this image proves it. Very creative and beautiful render.

I agree completely with what Ash888 said above. There's not a thing wrong with your other picture; and neither is there anything wrong with the above render. Sometimes, less is more and sometimes more is best. What your renders have in common is an marvelous ability to suck the viewer right into that alien world you have created.

When I hear someone say that an image has too many or too few elements, it always comes to my mind one of the most stupid comments in human history, made by Joseph II when he heard one of Mozart's opera (can't remember which one). He said "Too many notes, my dear Mozart." IMO, there's no such thing as too many or too few (elements or notes). An image has as many elements as it needs to convey the concept, no more, no less. Some images are fantastic and have lots of elements, other images are fantastic and have very few. Who's counting elements in a masterpiece?! Someone who doesn't really appreciate art, probably. Your images are always good, no matter how many elements they have. You have the most incredible alien plants I have ever seen. I would buy them if you ever put them on sale. Your plants are simultaneously believable and strange, in a perfect mix. And your lighting has a unique touch. I wouldn't need to see the signature to recognize one of your images, and that's a very important thing in an artist. Excellent job!

You always model wonderful plants :) I know someone said it before me but that's the first thing I thought when I saw your image, they look alive and like they're having a party, dancing :) I'm with your brother-in-law, I often think that less is better... but it might be better if you cropped it... I can't be sure, I have a small screen and I can only see 3/4 of it at a time lol

I always like your alien worlds and as has been said, there is no such thing like to many or not enough elements in a picture. It all depends on what you are aiming for.

Simple and beautiful. I'm always surprised at your great sense of color. And what it does is create something that's not just a "picture" of a very real and very alien place, but a piece of art as well. Cool models and great layout. Nice.
