Not sure about colouring but maybe the green is to blend it in with weed on surface of pond. Info on Marsh Frogs below:- Latin name: Rana ridibunda Size: Approximately 12cms long. Distribution: Rare. Mostly in Kent and East Sussex. Months seen: All year round. Habitat: Ponds, lakes and streams. Food: Worms, slugs and insects. Special features: The Marsh Frog is green and brown with black markings, and it has a bright yellow-green stripe running down its back. It's underside is a creamy-white. This species was first introduced to Kent in 1934, where it has slowly colonised the dykes.
