It´s necessary to look at something as neutral as possible before interpreting it. The lack of pathos and prejudices isn´t meant to disrespect others feelings, on the contrary it´s needed to be as free from manipulation as possible and to be able see the world from different perspectives and understand different viewpoints. So the negation of a stereotypical point of view isn´t made to be free from feelings (what´s difficult to achieve anyway), on the contrary it´s the base to build up an independent opinion.
