I saw at once that this wonderful capture is a stork, and so I looked it up! It's a Jaribu Stork! (Jaribu Mycteria) Vegetation: low seasonally wet grasslands, freshwater marshes, freshwater lakes and ponds • Minimum Elevation: 0 meters • Maximum Elevation: 700 meters • Foraging Strata: Water • Center of Abundance: Lower tropical: lowlands, lower than 500 m.; tropics. • Relative Abundance in Tropical America: Fairly common • Sensitivity to Disturbance: Medium. They are found in Argentina • Belize • Bolivia • Brazil • Colombia • Costa Rica • El Salvador • French Guiana • Guatemala • Guyana • Honduras • Mexico • Panama • Paraguay • Peru • Suriname • Trinidad and Tobago • United States • Uruguay • Venezuela, in the south-central USA, and in Quebec, Canada. No matter how much information I read on this fascinating bird, it can't beat the fact that this is a gorgeous photograph!

A superb capture Roby while Cmolsen2002 is quite right regarding it being a Stork this is in fact a Saddle-billed Stork which is far more colourful and has the give away yellow saddle on its beak
