Description

Today's offering is from my garden, not a wild flower. It has just opened and is one of my favourite evergreen shrubs.It grows well anywhere that rhododendrons and azaleas grow. (It needs an acidy soil)

Superb macro! What I love about htes flowers is the way the stamens seem held in by the petals, and then suddenly pop up. They are like very complicated origami!

The leaves and the way the flowers are grouped make me think "rhododendron," but I looked it up, and they're not related. Weird, huh? Beautiful image - this is a gorgeous plant, and you've certainly done it justice!

This is spectacular. I have not seen this. The open flower is very elaborate and soothingly pastel, but I really think I like the closed blooms best! This is marvelous!
