BIO
For around 20 years I was a professional wedding and portrait photographer winning a couple of Kodak awards but turned to landscapes about a year ago in 2005.In my wedding days I shot on a Bronica 6 x 6 format but my camera now is a Nikon D100 and I feel that digital and Photoshop opened a whole mew world to us guy's and gals. I am based in the UK moving from the south to lancashire at the end of 2005.
So its now 2009..long time since I updated my bio.
Now shoot on a Nikon D200 and process my work through Photoshop CS3.
Been to a lot of places since moving north.Three times to Scotland..going again in September 2009.
Had a week in Snowdonia..brilliant place....cant say the same for the weather we had.Ventured down to Devon...been for a week in Northumbria..had a glorious week on the North Yorkshire coast.Walked miles around the lake district in Cumbria.
Been to west Yorkshire no end of times and that's just the places I can recall.
Tried and tried to improve my photography which if any one looks thru my gallery back to the early days may agree that it has come a long way.
So many places still to see in the UK.We must have some of the loveliest places on earth to photograph here..there will never be enough time.Â

very atmospheric... just had my first tour of your gallery, impressive work and definitely given me a couple of ideas for places to visit when I'm next in transit, it would appear we share a great interest in nature and landscapes.. great work =)

My jaw dropped when I saw the postwork you did. My gosh, that's the stuff I wish I could do. But I'm all thumbs and a bit uneducated about how to pull this sort of thing off. You took a marvelous capture and applied magic to it.

That chunk of rock...well, it's pretty stunning if you ask me. Lovely image here!

The weather was already turning into a real crap day.I had taken some shots and then two sightseer's decided to hang around the wreck. As they were two big guy's I felt disinclined to tell them to move.So the water in the foreground was already pretty smooth but dotted with rain so for those who want to know I masked it and put a surface blur on it.Then on the two rocks I masked them and did Smart sharpen. Then just did some dodging and burning until I liked it.There are a lot of clever Photoshop people on here...I ain't one of them. But for those who like me used the dodge and burn and it looked stupid...turn down the opacity to say 15 then play with the tools, adjust the opacity up and down and boy will you start to have fun.Change brushes from hard edge to soft edge for different effects.Warning...it can get addictive :-)

Epic and otherworldly. It is as if you pierced the veil.

and here was me thinking you had used the ND1000... would have got a similar effect i think, at least in the clouds. Anyway - nice postwork, a bit of bleeding over the rocks in the foreground with the blur but otherwise, definitely suits the photo - good job! :)
