Taken today Tuesday June3 2008
Hollingworth Lake Rochdal UK.
Had rained all morning and was very dull and overcast, this Heron was all alone this side of the lake. The shot was taken from the "Bird Hide".

The Heron has always been one of my most favourite species of birds! Such a fantastic little animal, and so fascinating! What a terrific capture of him, so still and so on guard perched there on the beautifully reflected water.... a gorgeous nature scene!

Great photo of the Heron, they are huge birds, I know as one sometimes lands in my back garden. I think it's worked out that I've got a pond with fish in it ... oh dear. Tony :-)
