Description
Sunday morning the phone rang, and it was Jill's neighbor. We had a new foal! (It's a boy!)
So Jill and I went trotting over there, cameras in hand, and took pictures. The foal was only six hours old in these shots.
Look at those long legs!
It was a lot of fun to see this brand-new foal. He's quite coordinated, and had already figured out how to fold his legs underneath himself and lie on the ground without just falling over.
The mare is a pretty special horse. I'll have more for you on her in my next post.

Well you really enjoy keeping us hanging, don't you! I thought tonight would end the suspense but now I see I have another day of high anxiety. :>) These pictures are so heart warming and sweet. I've never seen a foal only six hours old so this was very special. I love it that he has his foot in the tub. This is a super collage!

....quite a barnyard scoop Tara ! --- your photo essay should have been posted in the Redmond Gazette ! .. ( if there is such a thing ) ......seriously, though - this is a fascinating collection of photos -- very well presented and arranged -- of this little foal's first spindly hours ...excellent work !

Amazing what a newborn can do, such as stand up and walk around. It took me 18 months to achieve the same status. Another stellar collage of magnificent photos on display here, my friend! The foal was no fool...it knew just where to go for comfort and sustenance.

Well all I can say is the mare was very obliging giving birth just in time for you to get these gorgeous shots, a few hours later and you would have been sitting in an airplane on your way home. Superb collage Tara, wonderful mare and foal shots, he looks very handsome now, he should be a great horse when older. Bravo!!!!!
