Description

But does Man have any right to spread through the universe? Man is what he is, a wild animal with the will to survive, and (so far) the ability, against all competition. Unless one accepts that, anything one says about morals, war, politics--you name it--is nonsense. Correct morals arise from knowing what man is--not what do-gooders and well-meaning old Aunt Nellies would like him to be. The Universe will let us know--later--whether or not Man has any right to expand through it. Johnny Rico in "Heinleins Starshiptroopers" which im reading at the moment, again, i think i read twice a year since im 16 and know it by heart. And believe me, i dislike almost every sentence i read...but only...because its the ultimate truth. Enjoy Dj

Interesting... I would ask back though... "do you think the universe even notices us?" LOL! In the entire scale of things (which I can't even begin to imagine), the existence of mankind is only important in so much as the meaning and importance we attach to it. Other than that, I'm not really sure the rest of it cares too much about us. Thanks for giving me that thoughtful moment. :o)

Quite an interesting quotation and well-illustrated, too.

I don't know! White men like to 'take over,' so more than likely they would also do it in space. lol q-: Excellent pic! I really like the weapon! (:

Great image! The notion of man being a "(wild) animal" isn´t correct, it even doesn´t do animals justice, which can be very social and caring of each other, even between different species (symbiosis). This (manipulative) simplification of the mechanisms of evolution (which knows many more survival tactics and some of them are clearly collective and sustainable) is an excuse for man to deny responsibility for his actions and justify the exploitation of nature and the majority of humans through the wealthy and ruthless.
