Creating cell phone themes is both my career and passion, and has been for the past several years. I've decided to revisit my Renderosity Gallery and update with recent and favorite examples of the themes I've created for my company Access Lane. These themes are then sold via well known mobile providers, such as AT&T, Rogers Wireless, etc...
Themes are more than just wallpapers. On a cell phone, a theme customizes highlights, buttons, and screensavers, if the phone allows for it. Some themes are simple and consist of only five or six components, while other more complex themes can have up to twenty or more, depending on the mobile device. The challenge lies in trying to create a single theme that has a consistent look and feel across a number of different devices that have different dimensions, options, and limitations.
Because these themes were created for the company I work for, I've placed our logo as a watermark across the images. My apologies if it distracts from the images, but they are a necessity.
programs: Adobe Photoshop, Sony Ericsson Theme Creator, Nokia S40 Theme Studio, Nokia Carbide.ui Theme Edition,
stock images: none
phones represented: Sony Ericsson W580, Nokia Series 40 5th Edition
notes: For a contest being held by my company, I created this original theme because I really wanted to make something that was literally "out of this world". Using a couple of tutorials created by Greg Martin as reference, I created the
starfield and
planet in Photoshop. This theme is currently being sold in the US by AT&T on most Nokia, Sony Ericsson, and Motorola handsets.
