Description

*** THE VUE VERSION *** I recently discovered jeg101's gallery here. John lives just a few miles from me and a lot of his photos are of the local area and Wales (another of my favourite places!) One photo caught my eye in particular which was taken standing underneath some beautiful willows by the side of Stowe Pool. I asked John if I could use it as reference/inspiration to do a similar scene in Vue. It's a really great excercise trying to recreate a photo as accurately as possible - and with the exception of the numerous crashes due to the size and complexity of the scene, I really enjoyed doing it - partly because it's a view I know personally. I had to rip apart and rebuild a church model I had to build Lichfield Cathedral. That was fun too ;-) St Mary's church in the left of the scene was easier - I just had to make the spire taller! The most impressive thing to me is the re-production of the depth. It's very close! That must have taken a bit of trial and error to nail. Lots of work - nice job.
