Description
Khalid fell in love with Yasmeen from the very first moment he saw her standing patiently outside her master’s shop in the souk .As she turned to look at him he saw the gentleness in her soft brown eyes, he knew she was not flighty like the fillies at the stable who spent their days tossing their long silky manes and admiring themselves in the water trough .His eyes drank in the beauty of her delicate hooves and her long ears shining like satin in the afternoon sun. Yasmeen saw Khalid looking at her, she turned away shyly until he had trotted past, she was flattered that such a handsome Arabian stallion would even look at her. Khalid’s master, Shafiq El Ziad, was spending the night at his father’s house so Khalif didn’t spend the night in his own stable It was a warm evening so he was turned out to graze for a while until dark….Now as luck would have it, Yasmeen was grazed in an adjoining field . Khalid looked up and couldn’t believe his eyes!!! There she was, the object of his desires, his love, his sweet gentle beauty. The two spent hours nuzzling and grooming each other and then it was over, Shafiq came to fetch Khalid. They stared at each other for the last time, Yasmeen whickered softly as Khalid was lead away, he neighed and tried to go back to her but Shafiq would not allow him. The morning after he looked for her at the souk but she was not there…Yasmeen had been sold!!!!
