Description
This is my first attempt using Photoshop CS2 as a painting medium. I have been an artist all my life, and have been using PS for almost 20 years. To tell you the truth - I've only used it for photo touch up and web graphics. Until recently - I didn't even know where the dodge and burn tools were. But I have decided to get back into art full swing, bought some books to study, checked out the graphic forums - and bought myself a Wacom Intuos3 pen tablet. The tablet has been collecting dust for the last 2 months - taunting me - so I figured I'd better give it a shot. I used a photo reference from a movie poster. Sketched it on a piece of paper and then scanned into PS. From there it was laying down base colors and then building from dark to light. 99% of the painting was using dodge and burn tools - with some airbrush touches of bronze on her skin.
I would appreciate any comments or criticisms on what I am doing right or wrong, what I need to improve and what looks good. It was a real pleasure using this medium - I think I am hooked.
Thanks in advance for any comments (good or bad).

wonderful work, like the skin colors, but could be sharper in the face:-)

Her lips could be more soft or rounded and her ear is not quite the right shape and there seems to be holes in her elbows, but other than that, it looks quite wonderful :) And since I have mostly used the dodge and burn tools myself because of lack of experience painting with Photoshop, I'm glad to see it's possible to do such fine work that way :)
