This is my first attempt using Photoshop CS2 as a painting medium. I have been an artist all my life, and have been using PS for almost 20 years. To tell you the truth - I've only used it for photo touch up and web graphics. Until recently - I didn't even know where the dodge and burn tools were. But I have decided to get back into art full swing, bought some books to study, checked out the graphic forums - and bought myself a Wacom Intuos3 pen tablet. The tablet has been collecting dust for the last 2 months - taunting me - so I figured I'd better give it a shot. I used a photo reference from a movie poster. Sketched it on a piece of paper and then scanned into PS. From there it was laying down base colors and then building from dark to light. 99% of the painting was using dodge and burn tools - with some airbrush touches of bronze on her skin. I would appreciate any comments or criticisms on what I am doing right or wrong, what I need to improve and what looks good. It was a real pleasure using this medium - I think I am hooked.
