Description
Its been a while since I posted, my mom had been sick and passed away a few weeks ago. Things are starting to return to normal now.
I live just north of Lake Ontario and last night this rather noisy and flashy storm crossed the lake but missed us. So I took the opportunity to grab the camera and get some shots of the lightning. This was taken with an 8 second exposure at ISO 100. I got a bunch of shots with lightning but many were obscured by the houses across the street. For this shot, I was aimed up into the sky - you can just see the tree tops in the bottom of the picture.

Firstly, my sincere condolences with the passing of your mom. I hope you have a strong support structure of family and friends. Secondly - this is a glorious capture. I always wanted to try it, but never got around taking action. This coming summer I'll make sure to try it!! :)

It is absolutely amazing you got actual lightening! I always shoot too fast or too slow and get mostly nothing and always nothing good. :-) I'm glad you are back with us. Friends help fill the loss with good will and support.
