Description
Captured 6/2/08, around 7:15 AM under leaden skies, exactly 1.15 miles/1.850 kilometers from my hazardous haunt.
Since the vehicle was parked in front of a funeral chapel, it may be a bus used to transport friends and/or relatives of the deceased to and from the cemetery. Then again, it may have nothing to do with the chapel. I have occasionally observed either black or white limousines within the confines of the chapel grounds. Speculation aside, I had never seen a vehicle like this before, especially with those large square tinted windows and relatively small wheels.
Zoom in for a close and personal look.
And have yourselves a frolicky fun-filled Friday.

It was painted a dark brown, and I didn't know Ford built buses of any kind. It's a new one on me.

Hmmm. I don't know either.

Unusual mode of transportation, that's for sure. More than likely Ford makes the rolling chassis, and the coachwork done by an outside source. Cool shot ol'boy!!!

I like how the first shot makes it look so much shorter, then you show us how really long it is in the second one~~POV makes all the difference!!

I have seen a lot of these at nursing homes and used as airport shuttles. The 16 inch wheels are ubiquitous on RVs now. It is the black color and tinted windows that is unique.

I love the way you are always on the lookout for unusual objects, or flowers and then sharing them with us, this is right it sure is unusual - Hmmmm I wonder what it is used for?? I hope you find out, hugs Jane xx

Interesting vehicle, and I'd concur with Newbie_Renderer, it looks like someone took a van and added a bus to the back of it...

It would be to get into another world. Did you see the marking TCP in the front. Transmission Control Protocol. The dead will be transmited somewhere. They have a logo in the rear left. If that didn't help sk a friend who works in insurances where is it. But I'm with you. it's a funeral car.

There's a large medical insurance company down the street from my office. They have a lot of employees, and not enough parking spaces, so they rent local parking lots and shuttle their employees back and forth in conveyances much like this one. I found a picture of the inside of one that looks like the one you've discovered!

That is a very interesting and classy caravan! We see some odd vehicles like this in the twin cities area and also wonder what could be the purpose? Do I see you in the reflection of that shiny black panel?

now that's a good idea! Less traffic and more togetherness for the family at a difficult time.

This reminds me of airport shuttles when you have to park in no man's land, but the black certainly is unusual. Nice find.
