Description
I saved this little fellow from drowning in my small waterfeature in the garden this evening, I guess it stayed to dry the wings before it flew on to new adventures. But this gave me time to get some nice images this being one of them.
I recomend to zoom in.

WOW! This is one exquisite gollywhopper...well...that's what they're called in some parts. I've only just discovered your gallery and I absolutely had to comment on this picture. Insect photography is one of my favorite things, and to see a wonderful specimen of a crane fly is the icing on an already delicious cake. This is marvelous!
