Description

FE & PS Hi all, Still trying to tweak my new pc, and find something worthwhile, since I've lost literally every frac and spot I've ever done. Any feedback's incredibly appreciated, particularly since my new screen appears sooo different to me. I'm concerned that this might appear too...*contrasty*. Thoughts? Please view full size for details..:) Heartfelt thanks for all your lovely prior comments and favs. And wishes for a beautiful, easy weekend! Hugs, Nancy~*

It's hard to tell precisely what you want to see, but on my Mac monitor it looks tonally perfect. Plenty of detail and texture in both the dark red/brown areas and the light grey areas. There's some high contrast in the central areas, but the outer wide bands look great. A striking image!

Excellent..Thanks so much for the feedback! I appreciate it. Yes, I was aware of the high contrast along the very central line, but left it. I rather wanted to see if anyone else noted it, with the rest just as you've described. Good. I'm relieved.

Contrasts seem a bit stronger than your previous posts, but I still see alot of subtle shadings in the lighter areas, so I agree with e-brink. Of course, I will admit that images that I can see clearly on my Macintosh typically look a bit darker with less detail on alot of PCs. I've always wondered if that was because the Mac comes with some built-in calibration tools to improve quality of the displays, and Windows still needs to work on that. I understand there are programs and utilities out there for Windows to help with this, but I'm unfortunately not sure where to find them. I think it looks great, and love the boldness of it.

Thanks, Michael! I admit, this one is a somewhat starker, crisper one for me. I noted the same as compared to most of my previous stuff. But hey, now I can actually SEE. Calibration on my old system was a constant pain, while the clarity on the new monitor is boggling. It's pretty sad all I've been missing..lol.

That would make a very interesting 2D Paint5ing. I would have it printed on canvass then take brush to it, it is very nice sweetheart...keep it up..

I think it works beautifully, the detail is clear and the contrast does not overwhelm with the exception of the blackest areas. But, I think that gives it depth.

You have created a wonderful, perfectly done (IMO) fractal image here! No way is there too much contrast. Fantastic post-processing! Bravo!

I think you are "on track" with this one. I know it's punny, but I like this work and how it draws you in. Bunny

I think this looks great! It has some very sharp edges, and yet you can see the subtle texture. I'm sorry to hear that you lost your work. I bought a 500gb external hard drive and back my upr, ufr and jpeg files up to it every time I complete a fractal session. The external drives are getting more inexpensive these days.

I don't think the contrast is too strong at all. I think it's integral to this piece. It's perfect .. dividing dark from light without overwhelming either. The details in the dark are awesome.
