Love the color, and the vivid contrast with the background. Here's a tip you can think about in your spare time: With that much contrast, it's fairly easy to isolate the rose from the background in whatever processing program you're using. You can then manipulate the rose and the background separately. Sharpen the rose, blur the background, or do any number of fun things with one or the other. It's more fun than a barrel of monkeys! :)
