Description

This hawk was a real doll when I was in her zone. She is old, many years of life she would not have had in the wild. Unless you hold tightly, she will take a mouse from your hand in one quick reach. The shot was spot metered on the bird against a sunlit light painted wall of the enclosure. That explains the very light background. Otherwise, the hawk would be underexposed. This is more of a classic pose. Yet, for her, it was mostly watching me and figuring out who I was and what I was doing there. Until another chance to visit the raptor center, this will be the last photo posted on these critters this week. This is the same hawk from the previous post. I look forward to seeing the birds and people at an educational program where many folks will see a live bird of prey for the first time.
