Description

Poem by Alex the Sun shines through a troubled sky, the Storm subsides, dark clouds pass by, this Rainbow Bridge makes my heart sigh and smile inside while Heavens cry If you look really close you can see it's a double rainbow. They shone bright and beautiful after a day of hot, humid weather filled with severe storm and tornado warnings. Schools were closed and the streets were pretty bare of cars for a long time.Trees bent as the winds roared thru, and the rain came in sheets. We even lost power for awhile. The lightning was amazing, and the thunder sounded like rifle shots followed by sizzles and bangs; really a great show! I couldn't get pics of the lightning because our front door is metal and the lightning was too close and all around us. A small strike hit a tree across the street, but caused no visible damage. Some downed branches and a fence gate on the other side of the street blew over. And there were tons and tons of rain! I love the fury of storms and the calm after. I cropped the house and wires out of this, but you can see its still huge! Thanks for looking and for previous comments!

Excellent work by both you and Aleks dear Lynn. I also love storms. Whenver we have a thunder storm at night, I would switch off all the lights, open the curtains and sit infront of the woindow and just watch the lightning play! Gorgeous... have a great day! :)

Fantastic capture, Lynn and what an excellent poem by Alex. The rainbow at the end of those storms are such a wonderful thing to see. I'm a real 'scaredy cat' when it comes to lightning and always happy to see them end. Beautiful work!

Nice words. There is a 'Rainbow Bridge' in Norse Mythology and it's what the Gods use. They call it called 'Bifrost'. It connects 'Midgard' (the realm of humankind) with 'Asgard' (the realm of the Gods). I studied Norse mythology once.
