Description

I've never had great sucess with creatures or birds that don't stay still for too long and I find that they are always at a distance. Anyhow this is my first attempt at posting a dragon I know nothing about creatures or flying insects so I hope someone can help identify this Dragonfly !

WOOHOO!!!. The 1st capture of a Dragonfly is a momentous event, lol. Yours is definitely better than my 1st one was. "Richardphotos" gives good advice on improving your odds. I would add that as you slowly approach, pay attention to the wings, if they shudder briefly then you need to stop for a moment. It means the Dragonfly is getting nervous. It's nice to see that "durleybeachbum" was able to give you an ID. People think I am better at little critter ID's than I really am, lol. I got a good start on the critters I find on my land but beyond that I am as confused as everyone else. Congrats on a nice capture and thanks for sharing. Lee

Congratulations! I've never seen one holding still, let along long enough to get the camera up, focus, and click one off! Nicely done, my friend!
