Description

This little one is about 1/2 to 1/3 the size of the last upload (about 5-7mm). Just happen to catch em out of the corner of my eye in the grass. Posed for a couple pictures then went back into hiding. I personally think Jumping Spiders are the coolest, cutest spiders there are. Thanks for comments on my last upload and for looking here. -Bruce Canon Xti w/50mm 2.5 Hoya +4 close-up filter. Natural Light. FULLSIZE for details.

They are in the wolf spider category. They actively hunt rather than spin a web and have the best eyesight.

Great shot of a tiny subject. These little guys are amazing. I too am enthralled by them, lol. I definitely need to consider a better camera. I have to be within a few inches to even come anywhere close to capturing this sharp detail. My pocket camera is amazingly convenient, surprisingly good at macros, and an affordable piece of equipment, but it is still just a point and shoot pocket camera. Thanks for sharing. Lee
