Description

I was told that this used to be the meeeting place for the neighboorhood,it was really more a bakery and it was not in a corner but close to it. Today it is in disrepair but it is scheduled to open again in all its glory after decades of neglect. The children who used to go there for "pan fresco" fresh bread, are now adults and they were the ones who contacted the city to prevent its demolishion.

The yellows and metallic greys make for a more appealing color scheme than you'd think would come from a dilapidated building. You always manage to capture the character and history of places so well. It's amazing how much of life is just hanging around in and around bakeries and convenience stores and little shops -- lots of memories there, I'm glad this one's due to be ressurrected.

Those steep steps tell me that this is crowded in front - close to the walk and street. Its wonderful it will be saved.

I love these old buildings, they can talk so much.... a damage is done very quickly and then the questions begin: "Why have we done"...or "What was this?".. I hope they do the repairs before it is too late. Great pic, great postwork!
