Description
This is a photograph I had to work for. I got up at 4:45 in the morning (I am so not a morning person) and found my way to the Tiber River from my hotel, (about a 30 minute walk). I was rewarded by this eerie play of color and light at dawn, which was totally unexpected and magical.
The bridge I stood on when I took this shot was the one leading up to Castle St. Angelo (commissioned by emperor Hadrian as his mausoleum, therefore also known as Hadrian's Tomb). The bridge seen on this photo is the one that goes past St. Peter's basilica and up to the Vatican museum.
