Description

I've redone this render 2 times already, even if I didn't post the first disaster. This disaster I decided to post because I doubt that I can redo it a third time and manage to get it the way I want it. Anyway...the inspiration for this is a book I've ordered. It's a first edition of a English translation of The Legend of the Ice People, which was written by a Norwegian/Swedish author almost 20 years ago. It's a series of 47 books and the family it is about lives in a valley in northern Norway. The only way to get into the valley is an opening in one of the mountains, which gets frozen solid in the winter time and flooded in spring. So the only time of the year you can enter and leave the valley is in the summer. I've read these books before, but it's a long time ago. They are a mix of Scandinavian mythology and history, and to date there are more than 25 million books out there, already translated into other 5 or 6 languages. Why it taken so much time to get them translated into English I have no idea. Anyways...thank you for your comments on my Rose render the other day :) And thanks for peeking in :D C. PS. Water is from Gill's latest water pack btw :D

The terrains and water look super! Only thing that doesn't do it for me is the foreground terrain mat

LOL @ Gill....the water is yours...without any tweaks, so yeah...I know, it's great :D As for the terrain mats it simply wouldn't play at all...like so many other things in Vue lately. Not sure what's wrong with me :p

Sounds like a good read. The DoF is very nicely done and I like the framing of the mountains, I'm not sure what you were trying for, but this has a painterly look and feel to it.
