A wonderful piece of work - great attention to detail.

I believe I detect a little self portrait up there in the composition? I’ve seen few young artists demonstrate such wild creativity, mythological depth, and methodical craftsmanship as in your body of work. Think you have much to offer, and this is just the beginning of things to come.

My friend, I hope you don't work too hard. Works like this warrant amassing and marshaling great universal energies, so I hope you have a beer now and then, or do whatever it is you do to relax -- because Rodma Hu is right -- this is just the beginning. Hell, ignore our BS. You're obviously doing everything right. Fantastic image and dig that style!

I consider all of my work to be self portraits, but no literal images of myself in this one. I'm probably not as young as you think, I'm 46, ancient almost. As for your commrnt Optiramma, this is what I do for fun. I don't really consider painting for myself as work. Glad to see that people actually appretiate my work. I recently had a solo show, but didn't sell anything. I need to show in one of the "big city" galleries I suppose. Until then I'll continue painting for my own enjoyment and sharing with the kind folks here and at other sites that I frequent. If you'd like to see more without waiting for my daily posts you can check out my site, Improvised Rituals by Joe E. A Google search should find it, if not, I'll post a link... Thanks for looking and commenting.

Fascinating and really awesome looking, great artwork!

These paintings do take a while? He asked, hopefully. You are prolific. Can't believe you didn't sell any. Their loss, I'd say. Great work Joe, keep painting for yourself, it's the only way. (cut out the ancient stuff, I'm 58 lol)

Very macarbe. Excellent work.

Only kidding about the "ancient" thing. I work with a couple of 20somethings and we tease each other about the age thing. I have a friend whose father is 106. He's 80 and doing fine...

Great work, overflowing with visual creativity & energy. Youth & age are all in the mind - I know 80-year olds who are much younger in spirit than many 20-year olds...

e-brink's remark, "great attention to detail" is putting it mildly! This image is loaded with massive amounts of detail. And I am with kahshe in presuming that these paintings do take awhile? You are amazing in your imagery and the details you work into them. And this is something you do aside from your daily work? Between working and this you surely don't have any other free time. But you do have a lot of dedication. (P.S. now I see the Coelecanth!)
