Description

"During the later 1960s, some dress designs were so innovative and striking that they became classics as soon as they were launched on the catwalk. Yves St Laurent's "Mondrian" look of 1966 was one of these, influenced by the Dutch abstract painter, Piet Mondrian (1872-1944), and his "neo-plasticism" which used blocks of primary colours." (extracted from internet sources). I don´t think YSL needs more presentation. He can be credited "with both spurring the couture's rise from its Sixties ashes and with finally rendering ready-to-wear reputable". He died on June 1, 2008 at his residence in Paris.

Great tribute to a genius. I prefer Italian Style like Armani , Versace and Moshino but this is only a question to the taste and own style. I like more Casual and jeans :)

i love the composition. what immediately strikes me is that there's some ambiguity about the main figure. i know you don't do skin with SSS, but the flatness of the skin and the stiffness of the hand pose makes me wonder whether the figure is supposed to be a woman or a manikin. which i think is perfect for this subject. i love the severe (i think it's called "architectural"?) hair style and sunglasses. the really interesting thing to me is that as far as i can find, the dress was cut and hung just like that.
