Description

My one son and I went to Kruger a couple of years back and were watching this elephant grazing very close to the road. Suddenly, without warning, he turned and stormed towards us. My son, who was driving at the time, sped off while I was hanging out the window trying to get as many shots as I could of this 'moment of panic'! We saw him later [in a better mood] and he was actually dragging his right back leg. It looked like an old injury that never healed properly. So he was instantly forgiven for being a bit grumpy!! Thank you for visiting my gallery and for any comments you wish to leave! Hugs, Carin xx

A tremendous photograph Carin! Your son did the right thing by speeding off... I'm not sure what I'd do in such a moment of realization .... something so large and potentially dangerous come storming at me! I'd probably freeze for a few... A terrific capture though, I love the frontal view..... I love how you've captured those tusks... makes him look all the more fierce!

I think I may have had to pop another Blood pressure pill at this point Carin, Lol. Good job your quick witted Son was with you, he had the sense to get out of there quick. You on the other hand would have wanted that last shot, before slipping the car/landrover into gear.#;0) then it might just have been your last shot. Thankfully not the case. Excellent capture under extreme difficulty. Bravo!!!!!

A great capture. I can understand your panic, as I recently looked at some Pics where got a little cross with a van and did considerable damage. They are glorious animals all the same.

Incredible dialog and the slight blurring of his charge perfectly illustrates what a close call you had! Right out of a National Geographic documentary! Glad you got away safely...whew!! Great shot!

For a moving shot, this is so good! I would have had perhaps more than just a moment of panic! This is excellent.

Fantastic action shot!!! The blurring of the ears only add to the drama. I wouldn't feel safe in a tank with that big guy attacking me.
