Description

my aunt's shed. before electricity most country homes had summer kitchen's where the cooking was done on wood stoves and meals were made in these seperate buildings so as to not heat up the house. this shed was used for wood storage and a country kitchen was attached to it, just steps from the house.

Back home when I was growing up in Texas, there were still several of the old dog-run homes standing in fields, abandoned. I even have a painting done of a dog-run family home that was on its last planks, so to speak. The family had 4 paintings made of it in all 4 seasons to remember it by before it fell to the ground. They had a good idea...putting the cooking away from the living area. This is a great shot and the story is good too.
