Description

This deer (& his buddy, who can't be seen in this photo) started hanging out in the shade of my woodshed yesterday. They were a little skittish about our presence at first, but seem to have gotten used to us & they returned for several hours today (they're still there, actually - I can see them from my computer room window). Beautiful & gentle creatures, though they can be rough on plantings. We're slowly learning what they will & won't eat...

Very cool! Just be careful when they beginthe rutt. My uncle in Canada had taken care of a buck when it was small and it always hung about the estate where he curated..... One afternoon it decided to gore him. Not fatally but pretty painfully.... They are nice... and wild.... ;)

Deer Eyeland, Cool shot. It must be nice where you live. I get bunnies in my yard. They live the clover. It's funny, my cat just lies around ignoring him. I'll try to get a shot of that...

Great shot!!! In my area you either have a well fenced flower garden or you have deer...smiles. Dang I wish they could be trained to eat the yellow broom and then everyone would be happy!!! Bruce

He's lovely. I don't think you will have much trouble out of them. They'll be moving on to find females - not the other way around. But for now, they are sure great to have around, huh? Super shot.

Nice Shot! You can forget about ever having roses unless you build a fence. Also, we've found they will generally avoid eating lavender, and usually lilac are spared as well. We're still figuring out the rest...

WOW, I can tell you what they love to eat and that's apples, they'll practically do anything for apples!!! I usually have friends give me bags of apples from their trees and I keep them handy to throw out as needed. Cool shot!!

What a wonderful and heartwarming candid shot!!!! I'm so glad you shot them with only your camera! Wonderful to see wildlife close up like this, but sincerely hope that they don't get so used to human presence that they walk up on some fella with a gun in the future. Just love the tender look on this one's face. What a truly special experience this must have been!
