Description

Lodora was one of those accidental colonizations. The second planet of a G1 star about the same size and intensity as Sol, it was the closest potentially earth-like planet to be found, when the colony ship headed for one of the fringe worlds malfunctioned and dropped out of hyperdrive into regular space. Using impulse engines, the ship barely managed to make it to Lodora. It proved a hospitable world and, although the colonist had to severely revise many of their original plans and improvise many new ones, most of original ship compliment survived and evenually prospered in their new home. While there were many surprises--some not very pleasant--from the native flora and fauna, one of the more pleasing ones were the rat-dragons. They took the place of dogs in the hearts of the humans and bonded with the new arrivals. They were smart, adaptable, and trainable. Their closest counterpart in the canine world, would be the terriers. A pack of well-trained rat-dragons were highly prized by the settlers. Here, we see a hunter out on an early morning hunt with her pack. ____________________________________________ Thanks for looking and for all your comments on this and my past work. Fabulous scene with some pretty intriguing stuff. I agree about the tree, it's waay past cool. Those rat dragons rock too, one even looks like a dalmation. The mountain doesn't match the quality of everything else, but that could be just me. Nice artwork, me likes!

Nice scene! Both the left and the right trees look great to me, but I do agree that the background mountain looks a little too pixelated. maybe too much compression or maybe too small of a texture on it.

I'm not too happy with the background hills either, but it is apparently caused by the Vue atmosphere, but I liked the coloring of the foreground figures and the sky enough to use it anyway.
