Pazu almost jumped when a special communicator went off. He answered,"Narchi? Is that you?" He actually read that NArchi was with a Scav, and some kind of unknown form of animate creature, and they were in Flying City 64 on the other side of the planet, but he tried to be polite. Narchi said slowly, "Hey, Pazu. We found her. She's in City 32, just a couple of kilometers from here. You been...busy?" Pazu rolled his eyes and responded sarcastically,"Naw...just having a sandwich and kicking back, why? You've been busy?" Narchi responded tiredly,"Let's see...got married. Uhmmmm, got shot at by killer alien bastards, and shot some folks into space at near light-speed...missed lunch...now running for my life in hiding in City 64. I guess that sort of covers it." "So you want me to come on over and we can plan on how to bust out your female pal?"Pazu asked when he heard how Narchi sounded stressed, and fatigued. Pazu responded curtly,"Narchi--the Rahkoshans, in stationary orbit over City 64, have been joined by a Starguild transit-ship, and your pilots. The Rahkoshans have raised their combat shields. Something is wrong. I can't explain it well." "I'm running my star-drive section right now, and I'm heavily armed and I'm going to transit through hyperspace to your location. You contacted me, and I need a gunner. Things are being pushed together by the ancient macro-probability weapon system!" Pazu paused and charged his hyperspace capacitors while looking for a likely wormhole to breech with his Hypercannon. Narchi sounded focused as he said, "You mean like a pre-cognitive reaction to infection or damage and marshaling the planet's defenses?" Pazu said, "Yes. Except a Rahkoshan Scout ship and my Starfighter, though very kick-ass, is meager defense against anything really dangerous. I'll be there within two minutes. I'm only on the other side of the planet!" Narchi said something else, but it was lost as Pazu 'breeched the space wall' to the first level of hyperspace. The sound was like the end of the world as the fabric of space-time deformed in the atmosphere of Balaam and formed a whirlpool of air around a hole. Pazu hit the hole passing Mach Three and accelerating. The hole closed with a bang behind him. Across the planet, Narchi hung up and said to 399, the Scav, and Thistledown, the Cyclops, "You know...I really NEED to get more boring friends, than you guys." --TO BE CONTINUED!--
