Description

This is some old art prints that i found in my attic in a wooden chest i have several pieces of this art very old and from what i read on it it is all from Chicago the artist from what i can make out is Sammuel Cousins and the copyright is 1929 i also found old post cards books old wooden puzzles and receipt and bank books from 1930 and this guys name is Thomas Smith very common name but would like to know who he was and if any of this old art is of any value but to me it should all be in a art museum to be seen. This Thomas Smith apparently stayed at the YMCA in Chicago but would love to know how the chest was left behind and why.????

Wow!What a great find...Beautiful work. I bought a original oil painting at a yard sale...the paint had seep thew the canvas so I knows its the original. Found out the artist painted across Europe in 1940's...but so for that's all the info I've got. Wish you luck on tracing down the story behind this piece.

You can take these to the art institute or a private gallery that deals in paintings of this era - if these are original, editioned prints they may be worth some money [or paintings]. If these are mass produced lithos it's doubtful they have any value. Try looking this person up online; also there are a number of good places to research chicago artists, including again the art institute.
