Description

In browsing my summer images of passed vacations I found this photo from a few years ago. This is in a historical old farm house in Wisconsin. What you see is the lovely bay window that Caddie Woodlawn used to look out of when she was a little girl. shots like this remind me that summer can be so restful & reflective. It's bathed in the soothing light you get on lazy summer afternoons where you just want to curl up under a tree and nap, and the windows & and soft light seem to hug your husband & daughter. (I feel hugged too. If you made it bigger—like wall size—I'd walk into it and curl up on the floor.) Beautiful and very restful. I'm there...

As a child, I visited families in old homes built in the northern style with these lovey bay windows and fabulous window seats. I wonder why those have disappeared from our modern style homes? They are so delightful. This is a sweet shot with a lovely mood.

You've captured the father-daughter moment most perfectly, such a wonderful perspective as well! I love the curved little bench... I could just imagine how peaceful it would be to sit so close to the window, on a rainy day looking outwards into the field..... and listen to the pitter patter of the rain against the windows. Most treasurable memories, and a lovely photograph!

A gazebo with windows! I'd know it anywhere! So serene, so provincial. The effects of the soft lighting illuminating the room, with your husband and daughter signing the refinancing forms, is just lovely, Jodie!
