Description

Another double photo (would it be pretentious to call it a diptych if it's not a painting?). The one where the moss is in focus with the frog out of focus in the background was an accident, but I liked the way it looked when paired with a shot where the frog was sharp so here you go. Also thought the slightly different tones complimented each other. Postwork: brightened the colors with a soft light layer and a little bit of Levels tweaking.

whenever I get to your gallery I regret that I don't get there often enough...this is a fascinating pairing, and I think they work very well together. The out-of-focus frog is almost menacing, like a monster creeping up unnnoticed. And yeah, the tone is a darker contrast, enhancing the mystery of the "big emerging frog"...The focussed version has all your usual qualities: Scintillating detail on the frog including the sheen on the face which you always capture so well (some of your frog shots look like the frogs put on lotion for the camera!) (yeah right), and in this case some fine detail in the prickly leaves in the lower left corner. So do you get kickbacks from the frog community, or do they just send you christmas cards? This is a fine diptych, acs. (And 'diptych' just meant two tablets, and it's fine for a photo. And if it isn't? Then start a tradition! Who cares what the linguists say!)
