I'm a 50-something Scotsman living in Glasgow, and I've been into CG art since 2005, and I like to think I'm not that bad at producing stuff that people like. I just hope I'm not deluding myself (^_^) My tastes run from glamour and fantasy, anime and manga, through to retro SF images and fake magazine and book covers.
I used Poser when I first started, but now I use DAZ Studio (latest version) for setting up and posing figures, and Bryce for the final renders. My own props and sets are created in TS4, which is a bit clunky, but it lets me build some interesting stuff. PhotoShop and Gimp are where it all comes together. I use only DAZ people in my artwork, as I find the Poser people a bit lacking in the looks and versatility department. I used to draw a lot, but discovering 3D has allowed me to create the kind of images I could never achieve with 'normal' media.
Thanks for all the positive and helpful comments that I have received. It's nice to get feedback from fellow artists. Makes posting the images seem worthwhile. At one time I was producing a CGI comic for a British comic-magazine called "Spaceship Away" but the editor decided that he would reduce my page count - and I decided that no he wasn't and pulled out all together. Although it lasted a short time it allowed me to experience life as a professional comics artist.
Hopefully it won't be my only time ^_^

Dr. Who??? Yes that's my name... But what is your name? I mean who are you, Dr.? I remember vaguely the conversation one character had upon meeting the famous Dr. Who, for the first time... and their puzzled facial expression... LOL Good render of the famous Blue Box known as the T.A.R.D.I.S.

It does look a bit like Mick's TARDIS or Rob Seminoff's (spelling) looking at the textures, and the console looks a bit like Bill Redfern's conversion over at VP, which might also be Rob's, it's very well done not matter who built them mate Billy

Oh I love it Iain...it reminds me of something so cute...my one daughter lives in Carrabelle Florida....I was going there for my 1st visit a few years back and she was telling me about this very small town on the coast and how the police station was a phone booth...LOL...of course I thought she must be taking leave of her senses....but when I got there she took me to see it and sure enough, the police station was a phone booth with a red phone in it...After the shock wore off I laughed about it and have for years....your image brought all that to mind...thank you for the memory....Very well done!

With the green "moss" mottling, I feel confident the police box is Mick Imrie's. He granted me permission to "Poser-fy" his .3DS prop. If this was a .CR2 "character" file imported into Bryce, then odds are it is the one MaPPer, Little_Dragon and I worked upon. Then again, Imrie once shared the afore mentioned .3DS file and another I think in Cinema 4D format. If the console is from VanishingPoint, then, yes, it would be mine. (Certainly, the "time rotor" has the alternating small and large stacked discs similar to what I modeled.) I "sculpted" and shared it because, there were at that time, no Poser ready consoles available for download (about which I personally knew). But since I didn't have the best images to reference, I had to "interpret" certain details. If the panel with the 5-sided Gallifrey "recall circuit" were displayed, I could tell for sure whether or not it's mine. That was one of the areas where I had to "make it up". But this discussion is diverting attention away from Theseus' composition. Except for one or two unused shots from the so-called "unaired" pilot (a differently "staged" performance of "The UnEarthly Child") we never had the opportunity to see the ship's interior through the doors as has been done several times in the current series. That definitely makes this image distinctive. Sincerely, Bill

I can just imagine stepping into the TARDIS to meet the Dr and then onwards and upwards to who knows where, very inviting image .... Castrovalva, The Planet Of Evil, Terminus or somewhere where the Daleks or the Cybermen lurk about. Tony.
